As a person "thinks" in his heart, so is he. That's what the Bible says. It's our goal to help everyone to learn to think biblically. Therefore I provide three services to help you think biblically. (Don't forget at Country Bible Church "Bible" is our middle name!) - Get it??
I encourage you to read through the bible annually. I am always suprised at how few men and women who have been Christians for many years have never read through the entire bible. I know the very thought of reading through the entire bible is incredibly intimidating, but we try to make it easy. In about 20 minutes a day, five days a week, you can read through the entire bible in just one year. I recommend that you read a modern language translation, like the New Living Translation, the New Century Version, The Living Bible, The Contemporary English Version, or even Eugene Peterson's "The Message." I'm not endorsing the accuracy of any of these translatons, but I am suggesting that when you set out to read through the entire bible it's easier if use a translation that's more modern. It makes it much less frustrating. To Help you, we've posted a link to the 2008 Read through the Bible schedule that my wife and I will be using. It gives an Old Testament and a New Testament passage to read each day.
To help people think biblically, I also encourage our members to memorize passages of the bible that are especially meaningful to them. Every year my wife and I attempt to memorize one verse or short passage every week. I invite you to do so also. If you don't know which verses you should memorize, the verses that we have chosen for 2008 can be found here also.
To encourage you to remain faithful in your reading schedule, I also send out bible devotions five days a week on the passage for that day.
